We Are The Damned Interview

1. Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?

These days we are working hard to trying to get the best exposure possible
for WATD, its a hard from where we come from since there is no tradition in
heavy music, but we are hard working, we have some of the best Portuguese
metal fests this year to play like Barroselas with Venom and Voivod and
others, the Vagos open air with Morbid Angel and metal GDL with Entombed,
and we focusing on that, and plan to tour europe in the fall.

2. How would you describe the musical sound of the new album and how it
differs from previous releases?

we describe it simply as metal, althought theres a big punk attitude added
to it, so i guess punk/metal is a good definition, if you wanna label one to
WATD

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the new album explores?

theres a lot of political stuff in it, religious approach, as well as life
concepts, social issues and a lot of anger involved as well, its meant to be
a tool of opposition and nihilism.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?

the band name comes mainly from where we come from....as i mentioned before
its hard out here

5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and
how would you describe your stage performance?

i see all our shows like good shows, even the bad ones are good! if you
know what i am trying to say, good to learn and improve, i can mention the
UK tour we did in 2008 supporting INME, like the highlight because it was
the first time we toured abroad.

6. Do you have any touring plans for the new releases?

we are playing a lot in Portugal, and then the fall in Europe, everything is
working towards that

7. On a worldwide level how has the new album been recieved by
crust/grind/death metal fans

i think its still early to find out about that, the album just been released
in March, but i hope people like it, and it means something for them

8. How would you describe your musical pogress over the years and what
direction do you see the music heading into on future releases?

we never think about the future, we like to live the moment step by step,
our feet are very much on the ground and now its only time to think HOLY
BEAST

9/ What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music
and also what are you listening to nowadays?

well the list would be to big to print! ehehe we are into a lot of stuff!
from thin lizzy to entombed, from celtic frost to rush....so we are widely
open to good music

10. What role does Satanism and Occultism play in your music?

we are fans of LaveyÂŽs concept of satanism, and since we identify a lot with
those views i guess that plays an important role into the bands concept

11.Outside of music what are some of your interests?

football
l!
